Ashley Jones, aka: CrashAlter, creates original, one of a kind, hand made pieces of art. She take old finds and give them new life by turning them into something fun and unique.
Hence the name: CrashAlter [crÉ™-shawl-ter] Crash: verb- to break into pieces violently & noisily. noun- her nickname. Alter: verb- to change; become different or modified. Meaning: She finds old things…takes them apart & give them new life! For as long as she can remember, Ashley has had a profound love for creating art. She never follows traditional rules or styles of art. She merely listens to her heart & as the different stages of her life are revealed, it leads her in different directions. This makes for an incessant change in her style and medium. When led down each new path, you can see an overlapping continuity in her art form from one progression to the next. She is currently experimenting & meandering amongst a few different styles & mediums; mixed media composition pieces, painting, and regenerate assemblage pieces, and functional art, each of which marks a noticeable challenging transformation within her life. She was recently introduced to the world of custom vinyls and challenged herself with this new art form. She blindly created 3 pieces for Vinyl Thoughts II and much to her surprise, all 3 pieces sold. She has since fallen in love with custom vinyl creating. When not creating art…ARE YOU KIDDING?
